Career STEP Workforce Development Program
Education
Free, and funded through the TANF workforce program from the Mississippi Department of Human Services. Eligible participants are between ages 18-59. Books and any certifications/licenses needed are available at no cost. Participants are connected with a local community college where they are able to pursue short-term training to take the first step towards a career. Programs of study available are CNA, EMT, CDL, pharmacy tech and more. Paid internships are also available. Participants can also be connected with childcare assistance, and receive help with resume building, job search endeavors, career counseling, assessments, NCRC testing, workforce preparation skills and finding sector-based employment.
